Activities at the central market and All Saints Garden on Trinity Street, which are managed by Cambridge City Council, kick off tomorrow (Friday 18 May) with the return of the popular night market to the market square.
The night market, organised in association with Cambridge Business Improvement District (BID), will feature a free cinema screening of the film ‘Sing!’ from 6.30pm in the market square, followed by a showing of ‘Meet The Parents’ at 8.30pm.
As well as the outdoor cinema, visitors will be able to browse an eclectic mix of market stalls and enjoy a drink and something to eat from a wide range of food traders.
On Saturday 19 May, there will be a free screening of the royal wedding and stalls in the market square will be decked out in Union Flag bunting to celebrate the occasion.
Meanwhile, also on Saturday and in the beautiful setting of All Saints Garden opposite Trinity College, craftspeople will be demonstrating their skills at a number of workshops. These will give visitors an opportunity to find out more about how the unique goods sold at the local All Saints Garden Art and Craft Market are made.
There will also be two events celebrating Cambridge markets’ increasing number of food and drink traders. Visitors will be able to sample different types of food from around the world in the market square on Thursday 24 May, and a second event in association with Eat Cambridge on Bank Holiday Monday 28 May.

Love Your Local Market is a national campaign to promote markets across the country run by the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA).
Cambridge Markets previously won a Great British Market Award for their Love Your Local Market campaign in 2016, while earlier this year The All Saints Garden Art and Craft Market was named Best Small Speciality Market at a national awards ceremony.
