Celebrate International Children’s Day on 1 June
Cambridge City Council’s Children and Young People’s Participation Service (ChYpPS) will be marking International Children’s Day this year with a celebratory event on Parker’s Piece.
Children and their families will be invited to come along, dressed in their favourite primary colour, to join in with giant parachute play, crafts and sports for an afternoon celebrating what it means to be a child.
The Mayor of Cambridge and members of the ChYpPS team will also be on hand to join in with the celebration. All families are welcome to come and join with the free event on Parker’s Piece from 2pm-5pm on Thursday 1 June, and to help wish all children around the world a healthy and happy future.
The World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland, proclaimed 1 June to be International Children’s Day in 1925.
