Committee members are sought for family support group

27-09-2001

The Meadows Children and Family Wing, a support group with a successful track record working with children and families in the Cambridge community, is on the lookout for new committee members.

'To best meet the needs of the community we serve, it is our policy to invite people living or working in the area to sit on our management committee,' says Rebecca Wilkinson, Family Support Worker.

'We very much value the input of our committee members and in return offer them the opportunity to be involved in supporting local initiatives and finding out more about community issues.'

No previous experience of committees is necessary. Whether you have particular skills to offer or are 'just' a friendly face who would like to be involved, the organisation would like to hear from you. Meetings usually take place every two months for about two hours.

The Meadows Community Centre, where the Family Wing is located, is a modern facility situated at the junction of Kings hedges Road and Arbury Road and is run and managed by Cambridge City Council. The facilities include a sports hall, meeting rooms, a caf - all available to the public.

The organisation's AGM and social takes place this week (Thursday October 4th) at 7.30 pm.
