Elizabeth Sani joins Salus Wellness


Elizabeth Sani has joined Salus Wellness, offering integrative psychotherapy and counselling for children and families, couples, adolescents, adults, individuals, males and females of any age.

Her specialism is with children, families and adolescents who self harm and present with suicidal ideation and other teenage related conflicts. She has done extensive work across cultures and is particularly experienced and knowledgeable of the African cultures and issues which affect migrant communities.

Elizabeth is a registered member of BACP (MBACP- Reg ) and has been for over 15years  and also with the AHP ( Association for Humanistic Psychology. She trained as an Integrative Psychotherapist with the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regents College, London, qualifying in 1991 with MA and has been practicing continuously since then. She has also worked with the NHS for 13 years. Elizabeth is a qualified teacher/Lecturer ( BEd, MEd, University of Liverpool ) and spent a number of years working in Education, later combining lecturing/teaching with Psychological therapy.

The integrative Psychotherapy approach that Elizabeth uses integrates a number of approaches which are carefully selected to suit the client’s personal needs and presenting Psychological and emotional difficulties. She uses CBT, DBT, Psychodynamics, Person Centred approach, Psycho social work, Psycho education, Family work and would work with systems around the child and family or the individual.

The approach Elizabeth uses ensures that not only are clients enabled and equipped to handle and deal with the presenting difficulties but also to understand the origins and the causative and underlying factors. She enables clients to achieve wholeness and emotional harmony as the goal of therapy. Both short term solution focused therapy and long term work is offered as appropriate.

Elizabeth is adequately qualified and experienced in dealing with a range of mental health and emotional/psychological presentations and among these are:

  • Anxiety/Phobias
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Bereavement/loss
  • Self harming among young people and adolescents
  • School refusals
  • Suicidal ideation and attempts
  • Feeling of hopelessness.
