Engineering in the spotlight – Cambridge MP Julian Huppert visits TWI


Cambridge MP Julian Huppert took time from his Parliamentary schedule to visit TWI at Granta Park, Cambridge, last Friday (10 May 2013).

Mr Huppert, an active voice for Cambridge’s world-leading business community, spent the morning with TWI Chief Executive Christoph Wiesner, touring the company’s laboratories and looking at examples of current project work for industry as well as demonstrations of new and existing technologies invented at TWI that have been licensed successfully across the globe.

TWI Chief Executive Christoph Wiesner said: “We were delighted to welcome Julian Huppert to TWI and to show him some examples of the research and development we have been carrying out in recent years.”

Julian Huppert commented: “It’s been fascinating to see so many different techniques in action here. I have been most impressed with the scale and diversity of the technical expertise and industry relevance of the work. TWI has been at the heart of technical innovation for many years – I am very pleased to see that it is showcasing its excellent achievements.”
