Explore Independent Cambridge: Yippee Noodle Bar

With the help of Independent Cambridge - the definitive guide to ‘real’ Cambridge - Cambridge Network continues its weekly exploration of the best independent shops, cafés, restaurants, venues and events in Cambridge and the surrounding area. This week: Yippee Noodle Bar.

Since opening in 2000, Yippee has focused on combining fresh ingredients into simple yet nutritious and flavoursome dishes. The unique noodle bar has been selected in the Sunday Times’ list of 130 best reasonably priced restaurants in the UK and continues to attract a growing number of local and student regulars.

The menu offers many delicious sides such as the must-have spicy squid, tempura prawns and soft-shell crab, to accompany authentic wok-fried or soup noodles, and rice dishes, with a wide range of vegetarian options.

Freshly-squeezed juices such as refreshing apple, cucumber and lime, homemade iced lemon tea and a good selection of wines, hot sake and oriental lagers are available to compliment the food.  Lunchtime specials also provide a satisfying meal at a very good price.

Everything is cooked to order and served straight from the bustling open kitchen at the rear of the restaurant, with all stocks and sauces prepared in-house daily. The staff are friendly and always ready to accommodate any dietary requirements or even just help choose!
