Find out more about a career with EACH at the Cambridge Jobs Fair

Talented professionals aspiring to work for a leading children’s charity have the chance to find out more at a jobs fair in Cambridge. East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) will have a stand at the event, being held at Cambridge Corn Exchange on Wednesday 23rd March.

Visitors will be able to chat to members of the team, ask about career opportunities and get more information about the latest vacancies, currently including the roles of Band 5 and 6 Nurses, Band 3 Care Assistant, Cleaner, Administrator - Symptom Management Nursing Service, Band 6 Child and Family Worker and Community Fundraiser.

EACH supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire.

It has three hospices, including one at Milton.

Nicky Kendrick, EACH Director of People, said: “This is a great opportunity to find out more about our amazing charity and have an informal chat with our friendly team about current and future opportunities, including trainees in a range of functions including Care, Facilities (including housekeeping and cooks) and Retail.

“We have a diverse range of care and support roles on a full-time and part-time basis, with flexible and hybrid working, and I’d encourage anyone interested to come along and say hello. We’re particularly keen to encourage under-represented communities to join EACH.”

The jobs fair, being held at Cambridge Corn Exchange in Wheeler Street, starts at 10.00am and will run until 1.00pm. Further information is available here.

EACH is recognised as a leader in its field, with a reputation for excellence and commitment to pioneering development and innovation.

Its Milton hospice is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) while the organisation was awarded internationally-recognised Investors in People (IIP) accreditation in September.

It recently launched a simple new e-alert to help people stay updated about current job vacancies.

They can register their interest in specific roles, either supporting children and families within the care and facilities teams, helping raise vital funds, being part of the retail team or working within EACH’s support service teams.

EACH will then send monthly jobs e-bulletins, outlining vacancies, and get in touch when preferred roles are advertised.

“In addition to the job fair, I’d encourage anyone interested to sign up for our new jobs e-bulletin,” added Nicky.

“It’s a great and simple way to stay up-to-date, find out about current vacancies and also for us to make contact when suitable roles become available.”

When completing the form, people can use a dropdown menu to select one or multiple roles of interest.

In terms of care, these include Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Care Assistant, Counsellor, Family Support Practitioner, Family Therapist, Art Therapist, Music Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Play Specialist, Groups and Events Coordinator and Chaplain.

Support roles, meanwhile, include Education, Facilities, Finance, Fundraising, Human Resources, IT/Information Services, Marketing and Communications, Volunteer and Retail Services.

EACH has a workforce of 350 employees and 50 bank staff across its hospice locations, 44 retail outlets – including Histon Road and Cherry Hinton Road, both in Cambridge, Cherry Hinton, Ely, Huntingdon, Soham and Whittlesey - and a central services team at Milton.

Benefits of joining the organisation include a competitive salary, enhanced holiday entitlement and a holiday purchase scheme, flexible and hybrid working (where feasible) and wellbeing support, free onsite parking, subsidised meals and an allowance to continue your NHS pension (if applicable).
