The Greater Cambridge Partnership is looking for 12–19 year olds who want to get creative and work with city planners and landscapers to develop innovative ideas and solutions during this free activity day.

There will be prizes for the winning team and refreshments throughout the day to keep everyone fuelled.

The Day

Arrive at 9.30am ready to critique, collaborate and create!

Proceedings will kick off with a short presentation to set the scene and outline the challenge ahead of you. This will be followed by a short tour of the city centre to survey the public spaces that need improvement – so please wear comfortable shoes.

You’ll then be able to get stuck into the challenge! You’ll work with other young people to analyse your chosen urban space and brainstorm ways that it can be improved aesthetically and in terms of accessibility and usability. Your team will work closely with a mentor to develop and refine your chosen idea over the course of the afternoon.

Each team will then have the opportunitiy to present their observations and ideas to a panel of judges, who will choose the overall winners. After prizegiving, the event will wrap up at 4.30pm.

Lunch will be provided – please advise of any dietary requirements.
