Hewitsons reappointed to NFU Legal Panel

Hewitsons has once again retained its coveted place on the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) Legal Panel, a select team of law firms chosen for their proven track record of excellence.

The panel comprises only 16 law firms from across the UK. Each is selected based on its reputation for advice to the rural sector and experience in dealing with farming and growing matters, as well as for offering a comprehensive legal service in related non-farming practice areas. These other areas include succession planning, diversification, renewable energy, the new telecommunications code, dispute resolution services, planning, probate and conveyancing.

Hewitsons has been on the panel since it first formed in 2008, giving NFU members direct access to the firm’s services at discounted rates.

The NFU reviews the panel every three years, so Hewitsons will remain a member until at least 2021. During each intensive six-month review, the NFU considers every panel firm’s legal services, fee structures and commitment to the organisation and its members, as well as feedback from NFU members and staff.

Hewitsons Partner Lucinda Brown, Head of the firm’s Contentious Trusts and Probate team and NFU Panel client care partner, said: “It is an honour to have been reappointed to the NFU Legal Panel, which is testament to Hewitsons’ expertise in rural business matters.

“This marks Hewitsons’ tenth consecutive year on the panel, which is a great achievement. We now look forward to continuing to work with the NFU to provide the highest quality of services to its members and our clients.”

Rachel Carrington, Acting Assistant NFU Regional Director, said: “We are delighted that Hewitsons has been re-appointed and will remain on the NFU legal panel for East Anglia for the next three years.

“Our farmer and grower members will be able to call on the firm’s outstanding expertise in agricultural law and its excellent value provided from the 12.5 per cent discount which is exclusive to NFU members.

“Hewitsons has been retained once again for both its strength and depth in agricultural and horticultural matters, together with other non-agricultural related specialist areas that affect our members. We look forward to working closely with the firm in the future.”
