Storm force winds have caused chaos on the roads and railways in Cambridgeshire this morning.
High winds bring chaos to county
Long queues are already forming on the A14 after two articulated lorries were blown over.
Both lorries are still on their sides on the westbound carriageway of the road at Lolworth and Alconbury. A diversion has been set up via Brampton to avoid the accident at Alconbury but police have warned that the road will also have to be closed later at Lolworth to allow recovery of the vehicle.
Police are also warning of trees down on many minor roads and are advising motorists to take extra care due to other debris left by the storm.
Meanwhile commuters into London were facing massive disruption after power lines were brought down at Hitchin and Stevenage.
Engineers are also working to restore power to between 9,000 and 10,000 homes in Cambridgeshire. The high winds, with gusts of up to 70mph, struck between 1am and 5am this morning.
