A winter festival vibe where visitors of all ages can chill and enjoy cool activities is promised at this year’s North Pole Christmas Festival at Parkers Piece, Cambridge.

With a 600m open-air ice rink, majestic sky wheel, Alpine Lodge, traditional food treats and family favourite fairground rides, the event from 17 November to 8 January will celebrate the traditions and entertainments that make the season special.

The popular attraction will focus on a relaxed festival atmosphere to encourage more people to chill out and enjoy all it has to offer throughout the festive period.

Special Mamas and Papas events for younger families to enjoy the freedom on the ice during the day and learn new skating skills will also be run. Family skate tickets are available at £36.00*.

The North Pole Christmas Festival will offer a wealth of entertainment including food stalls selling fast and tasty treats from crepes to churros and an authentic German Swing Grill, along with traditional fairground rides for all the family, starting from £2.00.

The event, now in its sixth year, is an ideal opportunity to meet up with friends and family over the festive period and even host a Christmas Party with a difference. Family tickets are available and visitors will have the opportunity to have special souvenir photographs to capture the festive moment.

The North Pole Christmas Festival is working in partnership with Heart FM, Cambridge News and Cambridge BID, and has welcomed thousands of visitors to the city.

Richard Elmer, from The North Pole Christmas Festival Cambridge, said: “This year we are working very hard to offer visitors a different type of festive experience and the festival will be focused around celebrating winter and our traditions. There are lots of Christmas markets in the UK and this year we want to bring a new and look and feel and draw on the popular festival vibe.

“We are hoping to attract more visitors during the period and are delighted to be working with local businesses to make this an event for all of the city to enjoy.”
