Online talk series highlights high growth entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough

A new online talk series, delivered by Growth Works, is set to reinforce the high growth entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough – launching on Tuesday 18 January.

Nigel Parkinson, Non-Executive Chairman of the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Business Growth Company

Growth Works is a strategic economic growth support programme launched by Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority and Business Board - supporting businesses across the region to accelerate their growth by planning bigger, scaling even faster and starting this month - paying it forward.

The Business Leader Talk series is open to all businesses across the region and aims to place the spotlight on challenges faced when growing a successful business in the region; trigger new thinking through leader-to-leader exchange and shared insights, and ultimately help to surge the local movement of fast-growing companies or businesses with exceptional growth promise.

Kicking off the series, the first talk will feature Hitesh Katechia, Chief Financial Officer of Peterborough-based motorsport company, Radical Sportscars. The medium-sized company has been championing innovation and distinctiveness since 1997 when it was founded and has become the largest producers of racing and track cars in the world – selling over 2000 cars globally in the past two decades.

As the company continues to accelerate their growth, Radical Sportscars have experienced challenges with scaling operations to meet production demands, building a skilled workforce and penetrating new geographical markets.

Hitesh Katechia, CFO of Radical Sportscars said: “We, as businesses, can only get better by being open and honest about the failures as well as the successes, and share our learnings so we don’t waste time reinventing the wheel as we scale our businesses. I’m delighted to be part of the Business Leader Talks with Growth Works and look forward to meeting the array of businesses out there in the region.”

Nigel Parkinson, Non-Executive Chairman of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Business Growth Company, which oversees the Growth Works service, will host the first event. He said: “I will be delighted to kick off the first of a series of what I hope will be very relevant and engaging talks for people in business across the region. This is a great opportunity to learn from one of our region’s most interesting and exciting enterprises and a chance to feel even more a part of this great business community we have in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.”

The monthly talk series boasts an impressive line-up of confirmed speakers, including Yusuf Yeganeh, Managing Director of Microbyte, and Sally Chalk, Chief Executive of Clarion UK based in South Cambridgeshire, announced for February and March dates respectively.

The Business Leader talks will form part of the exciting new Growth Champion initiative led by Growth Works, due to roll out later this year.

Registration to attend is free. All upcoming talks are available for registration on the Growth Works website: www.growthworkscoaching.uk
