Polysolar launches crowdfunding campaign

Award-winning Cambridge company, Polysolar has decided the time is right to seek external investment to help accelerate the growth of the business. Over the past few years it has been pioneering and developing transparent glass technology and has now decided the time is right to scale up the commercial sales.

There has been a shift in the market place and an architectural interest in applying the solar window technology to buildings and infrastructure, not as part of any subsidised scheme but as a long term sustainable building material that generates renewable energy.

Their success with the LG Eco-City garden at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, recent completed installations for Network Rail, Gloucester County Council, and Bournemouth University, among others, as well as growing overseas interest reaffirms the decision to fund the company for growth.

“We have decided to raise funds for the first time due to the significant increase in number and size of our sales pipeline. This working capital will take the company to the next level of service and growth globally.”

“As the leading company in the building integrated photovoltaic glazing market, we already have superior products and systems, however we are conscious that the major global players are looking to enter this $33bn market opportunity” said Hamish Watson, CEO of Polysolar.

The company has chosen to partner with Crowdcube, Europe’s leading investment platform, to manage this process and invite any interested parties to invest from as little as £10. The pitch is live for one month from Friday 8th June 2018.
