Region's wealthy make the Rich List

Five of the region's wealthiest residents have made it onto the Sunday Times' 'Rich List' of Britain's 1,000 highest earners.

Wealthiest in the region is Edmund Vestey, who lives near Haverhill. He comes in at 37th, with a family fortune of 700 million acquired in the shipping, farming and food industries.



Dr Mike Lynch, of high-tech firm Autonomy, based in Cambridge, was 131st with 256 million.



Robin Saxby, of ARM Holdings was 230th with 143 million while Hermann Hauser, the 'Father of Silicon Fen' came in 325th with 100 million.



Bill Gredley, Stetchworth property dealer, came in at 362nd with his fortune of 95 million.



The list was topped by the Duke of Westminster with his wealth estimated at 4,400 million.
