Advanced Rendering Technology (ART)has announced that Houston, TX, based visualization specialist Payne Rowlett has purchased two RenderDrive 3D rendering appliances to develop high-resolution images for the visualization of architectural and engineering projects.
RenderDrive enhances visualization capabilities at Payne Rowlett
Payne Rowlett is a business partnership formed in 1996 by Larry Payne and Martha Rowlett. Specializing in architectural and engineering illustration, Payne Rowlett has established a reputation for the production of high quality computer imagery. Keen to maintain their quality-focused advantage, Payne Rowlett recently purchased two RenderDrive RD3000 systems.
Projects completed by Payne Rowlett with RenderDrive include visualizations of an office high-rise in Houston, Texas, a building complex in Sacramento, California, and numerous computer-controlled machine tools.
'The lighting quality of RenderDrive is superior to all other rendering systems we have tried,' said Larry Payne. 'Other systems do not offer the realistic area lighting and special RenderCoat materials that are standard with RenderDrive. Glass and other reflective materials are more realistic with Renderdrive.'
Payne Rowlett use Cadkey, AutoCAD 2000 and 3D Studio Viz to build 3D models. The model is then moved into 3dsmax where materials are assigned, the model is lit and visualized with RenderDrive. 'Our clients use the images we create to assist with decision making, planning applications, marketing presentations and advertising,' commented Martha Rowlett.
'RenderDrive gives us the capability to render larger and more complicated files, at higher resolutions than was previously possible.'
According to Larry Payne, RenderDrive has also helped to streamline the production process. 'RenderDrive has been a much more stable rendering platform, and its specialised graphics processors deliver faster image rendering - which means that we don't have to buy new and faster computers every year!'
With RenderDrive, Payne Rowlett are able to concentrate on what they do best - delivering high quality visualization to meet and exceed their clients expectations.
ART's RenderDrive comprises software and hardware based on the company's proprietary ray traced rendering processors, which automatically perform the geometry and shading operations of the ray tracing algorithm.
The system's unique toolset includes a host of powerful features that allow users to easily integrate convincing effects such as accurate real-world lighting, physically-based materials, motion blur, and depth of field. By providing a unified, platform-independent rendering environment that harnesses the power and features of major host applications like Maya and 3ds max, RenderDrive ensures that architectural and industrial designers, broadcasters, and post-production and special effects animators can seamlessly realize their projects with a number of modelling and animation packages-all with an unparalleled level of realism.
