Search is on for 'Rupert Murdock' of Cambridge TV
Cambridge Presents Ltd is looking for angels and corporate partners to develop a TV channel dedicated to Cambridge. Its application to broadcast to the Cambridge area on Freeview goes in soon, in early September ("L-DTPS license"). The company says: "With our experience from Cambridge Red TV, we have high expectations of success.
"The channel has the potential to reach all households in the wider Cambridge area.
"Our planned programming will include advertising, local news, sponsored sectoral programming and local entertainment, produced by both professional and community teams."
With significant public subsidy and a local news production contract with the BBC, Cambridge Presents believes it can be local and profitable with a relatively low investment.
Its start-up team includes Ms Tarba Gill, who has more than 20 years' experience in the broadcast industry including running Cambridge Red TV, and Carl Homer, founder of Distant Mirror Films. It is supported by Peter Dawe, entrepreneur and former owner of Cambridge Red TV.
If you'd like to be part of this exciting development for Cambridge, as an investor, advertiser, programme contributor or corporate partne,r please contact Ms Tarba Gill at firstname.lastname@example.org
