ESPOSITO AS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
CONCORD, MASS. - September 11, 2000 - SolidWorks Corporation, a leading provider of affordable, easy-to-use 3D CAD software for the mainstream market, today announced the appointment of Joseph E. Esposito as Chief Financial Officer. As Chief Financial Officer, Esposito is responsible for all financial and legal activities, as well as several administrative functions at the company. The appointment of Esposito is further evidence of the company's success and its continued commitment to further growth.
'Joe's accomplished financial career and more than 25 years experience in technology-based industries and public accounting will help SolidWorks successfully achieve its financial goals,' said Jon Hirschtick, CEO of SolidWorks Corporation. 'In looking at candidates for the position, we wanted an individual with not only a strong finance and operational background, but also one with a keen sense of our business and where we want to take it. We found that individual in Joe Esposito.'
Throughout his career, Esposito has held a number of positions in corporate finance, business development, treasury, tax, and operational finance. Most recently, Esposito was Financial Director of New Business Ventures at Polaroid Corporation where he determined financial and operational structures for acquisitions, dispositions, and spin-offs in support of Polaroid's new business development effort.
Previously, Esposito held positions of increasing responsibility at Polaroid from external reporting and investor relations to senior controller assignments in both the U.S. and overseas. He also served as Chief Financial Officer of Polaroid Medical Imaging Systems.
Esposito brings a unique blend of business and technical skills to SolidWorks. He attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, served as a U.S. Army Captain in Vietnam, received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Boston University, and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School. In addition, he is a certified public accountant with both audit and tax experience from Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Company (KPMG Peat Marwick LLP).
