· Wednesday 21st October:

Deyton Bell are delighted to announce that opening the Stansted event will be the new Managing Director of BAA Stansted David Johnston, demonstrating the importance of this exciting initiative to our region, he comments “London Stansted airport and the East of England, which we serve, are great places to do business. We are the biggest single-site employer in the region, with more than 12,000 staff working in over 180 on-airport companies, and we contribute over £400 million a year in wages to the local and regional economies.
"The opportunity to host this event is something that we feel is important. Business and industry should come along and hear from our Belgian colleagues what new business opportunities will be presenting themselves in the future. I would encourage anyone who wants to do more business to join us.”
Other speakers include Nick Farrow, Chairman of IoD Norfolk who will be opening the Norfolk event and Chris Parkhouse, Managing Dirctor of Deyton Bell, as well as Chairman of Business Link and IoD Eastern Region, both men run successful businesses and have significant international experience.
Also speaking will be senior trade advisors from UKTI – Chris Kubicki, Bradley Rowley and John Tingle. Henk Verstraete, Partner for Liedekerke, Belgium’s leading law firm completes the panel of experts. The events are being endorsed and supported by UKT&I, East of England International, Regional Chambers of Commerce, Regional Branches of the Institute of Directors, The Global Trade Network and Business Link East.
The Keynote speaker for all three seminars will be Ben De Smit, Economic and Commercial Councellor at The Belgian Embassy, he comments: “We are delighted to have the support of so many influential business groups for our seminars, highlighting the importance of these initiatives to the business community in the Eastern region. Belgium boasts a uniquely central location at the crossroads of European Trade and in this current economic climate there is a need for organisations to look for new businesses opportunities beyond UK shores and we will be demonstrating how Belgium can help them do this.”
Chris Parkhouse, Managing Director of Deyton Bell adds “I am delighted that so many key business groups are supporting this important initiative, which offers valuable information and key contacts to firms across the region who want to expand into the lucrative European market.”
Chris Kubicki, Senior trade advisor for UKTI remarks: “Over recent years the focus of International Trade promotion has centred on developing markets notably China, India and Brazil. Our Trading Partners, particularly those in Northern Europe, have barely been mentioned yet they remain among the strongest, far exceeding returns from the “new” markets. Benelux and other European markets have proved to be less volatile and continue to provide solid demand in difficult trading periods and now is the right time to revisit these important markets.”
