Spectral Edge appoints Chief People Officer to support growth
Spectral Edge, the image fusion technology specialist, has today announced the appointment of Sue Handley Jones as its first Chief People Officer.
The appointment is the latest in a series of new senior hires for the company, with CEO Rhodri Thomas and CTO Dr Ilya Romanenko joining in 2017.
Handley Jones brings more than 15 years of experience in HR and resourcing to the company. Most recently she was Vice President, Human Resources, at Apical Limited, a global leader in imaging and embedded computer vision intellectual property (IP) products, where she was part of the management team which helped to complete the sale of Apical to ARM Holdings in 2016. With a specialism in helping tech start-ups grow through their people function, Handley Jones will be overseeing the organisations general HR function, as well as the resourcing of a highly specialised team.

The technology behind the process can be used across a range of potential applications that rely on image quality for either function or aesthetics - from mobile to security, and from automotive to on-demand video or live broadcast.
The company has also recently made technical hires, bringing on board hardware engineer Andrei Vasilyeu and imaging scientist Ana Tsifouti, PhD. With almost two decades as a systems and development engineer, Vasilyeu has considerable experience dealing with complex hardware and has worked extensively within the field of video and broadcast. Tsifouti has almost a decade’s experience in the area of image quality and has specialised in image capture systems, algorithmic processes and human investigations, most recently at Imagination Technologies. She also holds a PhD from the University of Westminster where her thesis investigated image usefulness of compressed surveillance footage with different scene contents.
