The firm has completed 934 academy projects altogether, including academy transfers, free schools, studio schools and university technical colleges. Roger Inman, Head of Education at Stone King (pictured), said: “We’re extremely proud to have helped so many schools complete the often challenging process of converting to academy status.”

Stone King is also pleased to report that Tom Brooke, a consultant in its education team, has been appointed as a Schools Adjudicator. Roger Inman commented: “This is another impressive feather in Tom’s judicial cap - he is already a judge in the Welfare Chapter of the tribunal system. Tom will continue working with us as a consultant and we wish him well in his new role.”

Finally, Stone King is delighted to announce that Lee Coley, a partner in its education team, will be part of the expert panel at a forthcoming meeting of the prestigious Westminster Education Forum which will consider the future of England’s school system including grammar and faith schools, the role of universities and the independent sector, and priorities for multi-academy trusts.

Other notable speakers will include Sir David Carter, National Schools Commissioner at the Department for Education; Geoff Barton of the ASCL and Mike Buchanan of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference.
