The Prestige brand is probably one of the best known brands in the home, particularly in the kitchen.
Wright Design releases Deco range for Prestige
When Meyer purchased Prestige in 1997 the brand had seen a number of years where ownership had changed hands several times and within those ownership changes direction of the brand and its products also changed course many times.
Meyer set out to change all this by putting the brand back on track by focusing on product, more especially product design and appeal.
In order to do this Meyer needed specialist help, especially as the Prestige brand opened up opportunities in new product area's in which Meyer hadn't previously participated.
'We needed help in the form of a Design agency that could embrace and deliver our vision for the future of the brand,' says the Marketing Director, Meyer Group. 'An agency that could become an extension of our business but still retain an outside objectivity' - hence in 2003 Meyer and Wright Design started to work together.
Deco is one of the best examples, demonstrating how well the association has worked. It is a range of small domestic appliances that encompasses everything Meyer believes the Prestige brand represents through its unique design, styling, colour and mix of more traditional materials with the flexibility and longevity of the more contemporary.
The finished designs have been created to replicate a traditional style within a more contemporary solution.
The designs represent a balanced composition between the subtle forms of the stainless steel and geometric make up of the coloured elements. The functional essentials of modern electric products have been maintained, however the visual impact of these details has been minimised.
Wright Design provides product design, development and implementation, within the core skills areas of industrial design, mechanical engineering, project management and manufacturing introduction support.
