Top business events jet in to Cambridge Airport

Cambridge Airport is gearing up to host two leading business exhibitions next week. The UK Business and General Aviation Day 2013 (BGAD) will take place in the airport’s largest aircraft hangar on Tuesday (17 September), followed by the Cambridge B2B Exhibition, which is being held at the airport for the first time on Wednesday (18 September).

This year, both events hope to attract even more delegates as international attendees now have the opportunity to fly in to the airport with direct scheduled flights.

Now in its 13th year, the annual BGAD event is a joint venture between Cambridge Airport and European Business Air News and is a key date in the UK’s business aviation calendar. With award-winning European regional carrier Darwin Airline having begun its brand new scheduled services linking Cambridge with Amsterdam, Paris, Milan and Geneva on 2 September, BGAD is now more easily accessible to the European business aviation market. The day will feature informative seminars for the business aviation sector, covering topics such as customer buying habits, perception management, taxation, flight data monitoring and training. Exhibits will include aircraft from companies including FlairJet, Embraer Executive Jets, Cessna, JETability and ExecuJet. There will also be motor industry exhibits from Marshall Motor Group.

Meanwhile, the Cambridge B2B Exhibition, which is backed by the Cambridge Chambers of Commerce, plays host to more than 100 leading Cambridgeshire businesses. The event aims to showcase the wide range of products and services in the Cambridgeshire area, as well as enabling delegates to network and engage in business seminars. Exhibitors range from technology companies such as DSM and Brightvision to colleges and hotels, as well as Cambridge Airport’s new carrier, Darwin Airline.

“We are delighted to welcome BGAD and the Cambridge B2B Exhibition to Cambridge Airport. Our city is already a thriving business destination and, with our new flights providing a further boost to the area, it seems very appropriate that we should be hosting these leading business and aviation days at the airport. We’re looking forward to an exciting and productive week”, commented David Surley, head of business and route development at Cambridge Airport.

Visitor entry to both BGAD 13 and the Cambridge B2B Exhibition are free of charge by pre-registration on the events’ respective websites, where a full list of exhibitors and attractions can be found. See www.bgad.aero and www.cambridgeshirechamber.co.uk
