Tame your computer - nifty selection

In her regular series for Cambridge Network members, software training expert Karen Roem offers handy tips to help you 'Tame your computer'. This week she describes a time-saving shortcut to select all cells in a row or column (Excel 2003-2010*)...

During an Advanced Excel course last week, one of the course participants (thanks, Gerard!) made the whole classroom fall in love with this time-saving shortcut to select all cells in a row or column:

1.       Click in the first cell of the row or column you want to select.

2.       Press [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + [RIGHT ARROW] key to select all nonblank cells in the row or [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + [DOWN ARROW] key to select all nonblank cells in a column.

* Unless stated otherwise, these tips were written for Microsoft Office 2007.  Most of what is covered however will also apply to earlier versions.
