Steve Jones expands role as managing director at Cambridge Airport

The Marshall Group of Companies is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Jones as the new managing director of its aviation services business unit, which now includes responsibility for Cambridge Airport and its operations.

Steve joined the Marshall Group in May 2012 as managing director of the group’s business aviation companies and he has since spearheaded the launch of executive aviation “one-stop-shop” JETability, unveiled in December 2012.  Steve also brings many years’ airport leadership background to Cambridge, having steered the development of Oxford Airport for 10 years and also serving as general manager of three airports in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi’s Al Bateen Airport.

Steve comments, “This is a very exciting time for Cambridge Airport as it grows alongside the ever-prospering city of Cambridge and surrounding region. We’ve welcomed new destinations this year, as well as conference flights, exhibitions and a holiday show but there’s more to come.  We are currently upgrading our passenger handling facilities, which will further add to the airport’s exclusive passenger experience.  The city of Cambridge is leading the UK’s economic re-growth during harsh financial times and the development of the airport is a key part of this. Research shows that, in terms of domestic and international air travel, the Cambridge region has the potential for an annual growth of up to 20%, which makes it a very exciting time to be taking the reins at Cambridge Airport”.
