2idesign were asked to design Plymouth POD for Adult Social Care service for Plymouth City Council.
Plymouth City Council’s adult social care service has won the prestigious MJ Award for Redefining Quality in Adult Services. The accolade was presented at last night’s awards ceremony in London, hosted by the BBC’s political editor Nick Robinson.
Plymouth saw off stiff competition from 10 other councils and scooped the award for a radical initiative to overhaul and improve the system that changes the way enquiries are handled, simplifies access to services, social workers, advice, information and support. It also gives people more choice and control and improves the quality of the service overall.
This new personalised system for adult social care has been developed with input from people who use the service, their families and health professionals.
Councillor Sue McDonald, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Adult Social Care said: Health and social care is changing and we must adapt the way we work to respond to the challenges and ensure quality care for vulnerable people. I’m thrilled Adult Social Care has been presented with this award, I’d like to thank the teams involved for their hard work and dedication.
