Pembroke College chooses Lookout Call to support Porter team

A Cambridge college has chosen Lookout Call’s lone worker safety system to enhance the safety of its team of Porters.

Pembroke College, a constituent college of the University of Cambridge, relies on its Porters to deal with a range of situations, including general security. The Porter team is the first point of contact for out-of-hours emergencies.

In carrying out their role, Pembroke’s Porters may sometimes face potentially risky situations. Recognising this, Pembroke College has invested in Lookout Call to ensure that every member of the team can always be accounted for, and they have the ability to call for help in the event of any emergency.

Karen Lain, HR Manager at Pembroke, said: “We considered a number of lone worker safety systems and decided to work with Lookout Call because the mobile-based system is easy to use and offered us the best value for money.

“The Lookout Call team is based in Cambridge so we have also benefitted from a number of hands on training sessions to ensure swift uptake of the system.”

About Lookout Call

Lookout Call is a lone worker alarm used by more than 18,000 lone workers throughout the UK to enhance their personal safety. This simple but effective mobile-based system gives vulnerable lone workers protection by alerting colleagues immediately if they are overdue from an appointment, or require emergency assistance.

No specialised custom device is required. This avoids capital outlay for an expensive device-based system allowing you to reduce business overheads while maintaining a high level of lone worker safety protection. Licenses start from as little as £2 per user per month, depending on the number of lone workers you have. And there is absolutely no set up fee.
