Cambridge Cleantech and Deputy PM Clegg support cleantech sector growth

Cambridge Cleantech has supported Nick Clegg, the Deputy PM’s call to support the growth of the cleantech sector nationally.

As the party conference season gets underway, think tank Green Alliance has published a collections of essays under the title: Green liberalism: a local approach to the low carbon economy.

Writing in the publication, Nick Clegg comments “We need to devolve power to local communities and enable them to provide investors with the certainty they need that the UK is, and will continue to be, one of the best places in the world to grow a green business”

Also writing a feature in the new publication,  Martin Garratt, CEO of Cambridge Cleantech comments that “Our vision is to develop the area into a leading cleantech cluster in Europe and, in so doing, foster economic success for our members and UK plc.” He went on to say that “the government continually reminds us of the need to rebalance the economy and what we are doing is reminding them that the cleantech sector and Cambridge in particular can play a leading role in helping to develop new  technologies and reshape our national economy.”
