Calling all Cambridge professionals who have behaved badly

We’ve all been involved in situations at work where we didn’t behave as we should have, when a situation has gone out of control and we wish it could have turned out differently.

An event is being held in Cambridge to show you how to deal with and approach Conflict and Difficult Conversations in the workplace.

Career Ambitions, a Cambridge-based organisation which works alongside skilled individuals to fiulfil their career aspirations, is hosting a half-day event that will show attendees how understanding sub-conscious motivations can give them a head-start when it comes to verbally tackling any work-related problem.

In particular, the event will look at helping delegates how to explore their mind-set and rehearse and mentally prepare for a confrontational, threatening or frightening situation.

The Executive Spotlight session will show attendees:

·         Why their childhood has impacted their stress responses – and what they can do about it
·         What signals to be alert for and strategies to have to deal with them
·         How to prepare for challenging conversations and have the confidence to deal with whatever comes their way.

Becoming aware of the unconscious beliefs and motivations that are driving you and the people around you is a tremendously powerful and career enhancing skill that we could all benefit from!

Event co-organiser Lindsey Reed, who is based in Cambridge, said: “We all have to approach difficult conversations at work but very few of us deal with them properly, whether that’s through avoiding them completely or being too gung ho.

"This event is ideal for professionals looking to further their careers or managers and HR teams that may be unsure as to the best way to tackle the discussions none of us want to have.

"We’re confident that, in just a few hours, we can really enhance the careers of any attendees, whatever work level they’re at.”

The event is taking place on Monday 21 October and registration opens at 12.45pm. The event itself starts at 1.00pm and is being held at St John's Innovation Centre.

It is being conducted by Lindsey Reed, an Executive Career Confidence Coach and Katherine Wiid, one of just 400 Language and Behavioural Profilers in the world who will be giving attendees useful communication strategies to use in their day to day lives.
