CBM launches 'Breaking Barriers – Opening Doors' advent calendar

In the lead-up to Christmas, CBM UK, the overseas disability charity based in Cambridge, is launching its very own advent calendar with a digital twist. CBM’s ‘Breaking Barriers - Opening Doors’ advent Calendar is like no other. Each day until Christmas, people will open a door and discover CBM’s magical work with disabled people across the world.

People with disabilities form the biggest global minority – one in seven of the world’s population. However, too often the huge potential of people with disabilities as a force for global change is overlooked. The advent calendar will feature stories from people in thePhilippineswho received emergency aid after the recent typhoon and an inspiring message from paralympic champion, Ade Adepitan.

Kirsty Smith, CBM UK Chief Executive said, “People living with disabilities face many different barriers in society, including physical, social and economic factors. CBM aims to break down these barriers and open doors so that people with disabilities don’t have to face the world alone. So you can join us in opening doors, we’re launching an advent calendar to bring a little joy to every day in the run-up to Christmas. Let’s share the next 25 days together. Visit www.cbmuk.org.uk every day until Christmas to find out about how CBM is supporting the most vulnerable people across the world.”
