Cheffins auctioneers of Cambridge will be holding an auction in their Cambridge salerooms on Thursday 30th January of furnishings from the interiors of the Luton Hoo Estate.

The grandeur of  Luton Hoo house has been witnessed over the years with its lavish parties by guests such as the Queen and Prince Philip,  Sir Winston Churchill, Queen Mary, Edward VII and Lord Mountbatten. The house has also been the venue for many famous films including several Bond films as well as 'Eyes Wide Shut' and 'Four Weddings and a funeral'.

Cheffins auctioneers are proud to announce this sale which will be auctioning items from the Luton Hoo interiors. The house was transformed for Sir Harold Wernher Bt. (c.1903-1906) by the firm of Mewes & Davis, the architects best known in London for their commission of the Ritz Hotel, reflected in the grandeur of the Edwardian period.

This house was their largest private commission and the sale includes items from the interiors, from marble columns to card tables and indian saddles.
