Cambridge Filmworks helps celebrate the life and work of Irish poet Seamus Heaney

Academics and poets from around the world came together at Cripps Court, Cambridge, last week to commemorate the work of Seamus Heaney, widely recognised as one of the major poets of the 20th century.

As a recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature and an Honorary Fellow of Magdalene College, the day provided an opportunity for all lovers of Heaney’s work to join together in celebrating the late poet's literary legacy.

The team from Cambridge Filmworks was on hand to capture all the key speakers, poetry readings and discussions. Filmworks Company Director Richard Millen commented: The day was very special. To be in a room full of such acclaimed  people with so much to share about one man's achievements was quite humbling.

Master of Ceremonies for the event was former Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams (pictured), who personally thanked the Filmworks team for their hard work filming throughout the day.
