Sepura verifies next generation platforms for evolution of mission critical communications

Sepura has today announced verification of its next generation terminal and infrastructure platforms, including multi-protocol capability conforming to ETSI PMR and 3GPP standards.

The move is seen by Sepura as an important milestone in its capacity to deliver future mission critical voice and data application solutions utilising both narrowband and broadband spectrum.

Steve Barber, Sepura’s Head of Product Strategy commented “Sepura has always been committed to open standards and interoperability across multiple PMR platforms, whilst also recognising the need to provide broadband services. Sepura’s investment over the last three years in these new platforms ensures that we continue to lead the market in the delivery of state of the art mission critical solutions long into the future.”

Jonathan Hamill, Sepura’s VP of Government and Public Safety said “Sepura has already demonstrated voice and data interoperability between TETRA and LTE, this key milestone reinforces our commitment to delivering emerging technology solutions to our customers, future proofing any long term investment decisions they may be making now.”

Sepura yesterday announced the acquisition of Fylde Micro, the UK based global leader in radio trunking technology. This represents Sepura’s third strategic acquisition in the last two years; 3T, the Austrian supplier of TETRA infrastructure was acquired in 2012, and Portalify, the Helsinki based applications developer, was acquired in July 2013.
