Cambridge Filmworks celebrates 100 years with The National Trust

Cambridge Filmworks has just returned from Box Hill in Surrey where its new film, “100 years on Box Hill”, was the centrepiece of one of The National Trust’s most prestigious celebrations, marking the centenary year of this ancient site being in their care.

Presided over by Director General of The National Trust, Dame Helen Ghosh, the event brought together leading representatives from the Trust, alongside members and volunteers, for a premier of the film and a chance to meet its main contributors. To capture the hill in all its glory, Filmworks used its UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) to film stunning birds' eye views of this unique National Trust property.

Filmworks' director Adam commented: ‘ We were commissioned by The National Trust and the Friends of Box Hill to produce a film that really captures the essence of why this site has remained so incredibly special to so many people across the years. Everybody we interviewed was so passionate about the place that it made the film an absolute pleasure to produce.’

Lyn Richards, president of Friends of Box Hill commented: ‘Box Hill is such a special place, even more so when you discover that it was saved from the very real risk of being turned into a housing development through the generosity and vision of one man Leopald Salomons. This film is a beautiful tribute to Box Hill over the years.’
