Acteon client awarded CIPD ‘Best Learning and Development Initiative of the year’

Healthcare provider HC-One was recognised by the Chartered Institute of People Development (CIPD) as the winner of the ‘Best Learning and Development Initiative’ on 30 September for its work with Acteon, the eighth award this transformational staff development programme has garnered.

Over the last year, Acteon and HC-One’s ‘Touch’ programme have been honoured as winners of a Peer Award for Excellence in Technology for People and Performance, two Gold E-Learning Awards and two Gold Training Journal Awards.

Acteon won Gold in the TJ Awards for ‘Best operational training programme’ and ‘Best use of learning technologies’ and Silver for ‘Best change management programme.’

Acteon won E-learning Awards for ‘Best e-learning project’ and ‘Best compliance e-learning project’, the sixth ‘best project’ award the company has earned since 2006.

HC-One’s Head of People and Organisational Development, Alison Innes- Farquhar was also awarded the Gold Award for Chief Learning Officer of the Year at the highly acclaimed Learning Awards.

Acteon helped HC-One put an exciting new blended learning programme called ‘Touch’ at the heart of business transformation. One year after its launch, HC-One people have completed an astonishing 280,000 training courses across a blend of e-learning and face-to-face programmes and staff engagement survey results are soaring.

Reflecting on the remarkable recognition for Touch, HC-One Chairman Dr Chai Patel said “At HC-One we’ve set ourselves the goal to be the kindest care home operator in the UK. You can't achieve a goal like that without providing the best people with the best skills and values, and the best learning and development. Touch is the platform on which we do that. Touch is our way of saying to colleagues ‘we mean what we say, and we're going to help you achieve a transformation’.”

“HC-One does important work – critical work – in caring for the elderly, and it has been a privilege to work alongside them in helping to develop their people,” said Matthew Borg, a managing partner at Acteon. “Success has been achieved through a real partnership where we have been able to align our capability in communication and learning with their vision, values and commitment to their people.”
