Deloitte welcomes in the new term

Deloitte in Cambridge has 20 new starters including 14 graduates and 6 school and college-leavers. The mix of students reflects the different recruitment programmes that the firm now has in place to attract the most promising new talent. The intake also brings the total number based at their city office, which delivers Audit, Tax, Consulting and Corporate Finance advice, to over 240 employees.

“This is always an exciting time for us,” commented Paul Schofield, Office Senior Partner at Deloitte in Cambridge. “These new starters are the future of our business and so we work hard to ensure our training programmes are second-to-none in supporting them and their future career.”

The students are all now undergoing an initial four-week practical and theoretical training programme, providing an in-depth understanding of the business whilst also developing key skills applicable to their part of the business.

Schofield continued; “This new intake is part of our strategy to significantly grow our East Anglian practice, widening the services we offer to our clients. Our clients cover the full breadth of the region, and include some of the most exciting and dynamic firms and industries, not just in East Anglia, but across the U.K.”

Joshua Jamieson who graduated from the University of Southampton in Economics, said; “I chose Deloitte in Cambridge because I wanted to be part of a growing team that provides services to an interesting variety of private and publicly-owned companies.”

Over a quarter of the starters have come from the Brightstart programme.  This programme creates a path for high-achieving school and college leavers to enter the work place directly, instead of taking the traditional route via university.
