'My HealthKit Toolbox' - Cambrige Wireless Healthcare SIG event

Traditionally we have relied on visits to our local medical services to monitor our general health, to diagnose and prescribe solutions when we feel a little unwell and to assist us in managing long term health conditions.

'My HealthKit Toolbox' -   a Cambrige Wireless Healthcare SIG event - will challenge this new breed of capable commercial healthcare devices and platforms, pitting them up against the established medical devices and robust data capture platforms, looking at aspects of usability and interoperability.

Cambridge Wireless writes:

Speakers to be announced shortly. Register now to secure your place for this exciting afternoon of practical insight and collaboration.

The world is changing quickly and the younger generation especially are taking an active role in their personal health adopting wearable technology to monitor physiological changes and using social healthcare platforms for data comparison, support and for sharing experiences.

As health and fitness devices and platforms become mainstream, their natural evolution will expand their capabilities, challenging the traditional role of the medical device and pharmaceutical health platforms built around them. The younger generation will manage their personal health and fitness in a more convenient way using their smartphone as a gateway, with the expectation that the data captured will be stored, processed and displayed - offering them wellbeing feedback together with the ability to share information with, family, friends and healthcare professionals alike.

Each speaker will present an innovative idea around issues including data storage/sharing, sensors, platforms, interoperability and paediatrics. Groups will then provide feedback to each speaker with the goal of creating a strategy for the realisation of the idea and to encourage cross discipline innovation.

Speakers include:

Dr Mohammad Al-Ubaydli, CEO, Patients Know Best®
