Five Cambridge Cleantech member companies - Alquist, Chalmor, hsg UK, i-Sotera and Propelair - have been selected to have their products tested across the Royal Bank of Scotland’s property estate.
Three Cambridge Cleantech member companies, LiME TOOLS, The Solar Cloth Co and Reduse have each been awarded a £3,000 grant to help develop their products to take to market.
Launched in March this year, the Gateway Competition had three aims; to help RBS save energy, water and waste across its estate of 2,500 buildings, to nurture a new wave of brilliant innovators and to accelerate innovation to market. The Gateway attracted more than 140 submissions in just 40 days from innovators and SMEs in the UK and around the world. With the help of our panel of subject-matter experts, the 140 figure was reduced to just 26 for the Finalists Day at RBS this week - which featured a brilliant Innovation Fair and a series of Dragon’s Den-style pitches to the final judging panel.

It demonstrates the depth of quality of the companies within our membership and also underlines how we support our members by making them aware of such opportunities through our ‘Contract Alerts’ service in the first place.”
