Perched up on a hill just outside Great Shelford, Gog Magog Hills Farm Shop is the ideal spot for picking up your shopping and enjoying a nice slice of cake while you’re at it.
The shop, deli and café is run by the Bradford family who have owned the farm since the early 1900s. Brothers Charles and Marcus are at the helm now, with daily help from mum and dad, Lesley and Colin. Add to that the most chirpy, food-loving gaggle of staff around and you’ve got a farm shop to reckon with - especially at Christmas time!
Service comes with smiles abound and is so knowledgeable that fancy cheese names will greet you as you open the door to the deli. A bunch of first-rate butchers complete the cheery team and they are always on hand to answer questions and suggest cuts for your recipes.
The café serves a tempting menu, including cakes galore and the farm shop’s very own award-winning sausage rolls and Scotch eggs, plus a mean cup of Monmouth coffee. It’s a great spot for a post-shopping treat or hearty lunch.
The farm shop stocks many local suppliers and takes pride in offering customers the best of the best. So much so in fact, that accolades include being voted Observer Food Monthly’s runner-up in the UK’s Best Independent Retailer Awards, winning five Golds at the Great Taste Awards, and reaching the final round of the Butcher’s Shop of the Year Awards.
