Accenture’s Aiden Quilligan takes to the floor for CW Prestigious Lecture

Aidan Quilligan, Global Managing Director at Accenture Industrial Software Solutions (AISS), gave the Fifth Cambridge Wireless Prestigious Lecture yesterday evening (Weds), presenting his views on ‘The Fourth Industrial Revolution - when Digital Technology meets the Shop Floor’.

In his lecture, Aidan explored the intersection of business, technology, design and customer experience – looking at how technology over the last three centuries has revolutionised the way companies run their businesses and interact with customers. He reflected on how the advent of steam, followed by electricity and automation transformed how industrial companies operate; and in parallel and largely independently, the customer interface has progressed from mail, to the telephone and now the Web. In his conclusion, Aiden pointed to how these two paths are coming together with profound opportunities for the future of industry and the way we do business.

The CW Prestigious Lecture, in association with The IET and sponsored by Rohde & Schwarz, took place at Taylor Wessing’s London offices. The event was introduced by Professor William Webb, CEO Weightless SIG and President of the IET, who also chaired the lively discussion session following the lecture.
