Planning for a growing team at Cheffins

With development storming ahead across the Cambridge sub-region, Cheffins is expanding its planning team to service a wave of significant new instructions. The latest recruit is Ben Pridgeon, who has joined as a Senior Town Planner from consultancy Mott MacDonald.

Paul Sutton (pictured right), Cheffins' Head of Planning, explains the move: "It’s a busy time to be a planner in Cambridge – the new settlements at Northstowe and Waterbeach are coming on stream, plus there are new business parks on the horizon and the whole of the northern fringe is to be transformed with a new station and road improvements. We have particular projects in Cambridge and Ely that need Ben’s expertise now and we look forward to advising on some of the exciting new developments that are emerging. It’s great to have Ben with us as we support landowners and developers to maximise the opportunities ahead."

Ben (left) is a chartered Town Planner and an environmental consultant with six years’ project management experience in consultancy and with a planning authority in Somerset. During his time at Mott MacDonald, Ben was Project Manager and Principal Environmental Town Planning advisor to Anglian Water’s Asset Management Plan programme.

Ben is a keen cyclist and runner and has recently acquired a Brompton bicycle – which can often be seen under his desk. Ben also has a more lyrical side and sings with the Ely Cathedral Octagon Singers (ECOS).
