Accelerate Cambidge's Biotech Startup Weekend at the Judge Business School

During the weekend of 20-22 March 2015 Accelerate Cambridge will be hosting the first Cambridge Biotech Startup Weekend at Cambridge Judge Business School in collaboration with AstraZeneca.

Accelerate Cambridge is Cambridge Judge Business School’s in-house early venture accelerator. It forms an integral part of the entrepreneurship offering at Cambridge Judge Business School by focusing on venture creation by teams with a structured combination of entrepreneurship training, coaching and mentoring.

At start-up weekends, participants do not need a team or a readymade venture. They bring along ideas and stamina!

The weekend kicks off with a series of 60-second pitches. Ideas to be worked on at the weekend are selected by the participants and teams form around them. The teams then spend the rest of the weekend developing the ideas into business plans and pitches, with the support of a team of highly experienced coaches drawn from the worlds of education, technology and business.

At the end of the weekend, the teams pitch their concepts to a panel of expert judges, and the winning teams are then helped to take their businesses to the next level.

Hanadi Jabado, Director of Accelerate Cambridge, said:

"Start-up weekends are the ideal place for budding entrepreneurs and innovators to meet like-minded people and test their ideas. I am looking forward to the ventures coming out of the first biotech start-up weekend in Cambridge."
