Ubisense Conference brings Google, Airbus and McLaren to Cambridge

Ubisense, the world Leader in Precise Real-Time Location Systems, hosts more than 100 delegates and 20 speakers drawn from Aston Martin, Atlas Copco and General Electric - all customers of Ubisense - in Cambridge this week.

The User Conference was preceded by a Partner Event which included participants from the growing number of organisations reselling the Ubisense range of products to specialised vertical markets and geographies from as far afield as China to local Cambridge-based audio specialists, Outboard. The User Conference itself, which provides a forum in which end-users and partners can discuss the latest developments in real-time location systems and share best practice in the adoption of Ubisense products, opened yesterday at Jesus College, Cambridge.

Welcomed by Professor Andy Hopper, Head of Computer Technology at Cambridge University and Chairman of Ubisense, delegates heard presentations describing solutions delivering Process Improvement at Aston Martin, tracking Carmen Opera singers at the O2 Arena and location tracking and energy usage at the e.ON Research House. Ed Parsons of search engine giant Google covered the use of location on the web.

The conference will feature presentations from Carlo K Nizam, Head of Value Chain Visibility at Airbus, Andy Walker from McLaren Applied Technologies and an overview of how Alitalia is using the Ubisense based Meerkat product for tracking personnel within their maintenance hangars.

“It is fantastic to see so many of our customers and partners in Cambridge this week,” said Ubisense CEO, Richard Green. “We are very proud to be making a real difference to the productivity of so many organisations through their visibility of assets and people with our precise real–time location system.”
