Cambridge–based accountancy firm, Ernst & Young, are again providing a platform for the region’s entrepreneurs to voice their views and opinions on how the coalition government can do more to support innovative, fast growth businesses.
Ernst and Young re-ignite entrepreneurship debate
Ernst & Young, which runs the annual Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards programme to identify and celebrate the achievements of outstanding entrepreneurs, also champions the Cambridge Network Entrepreneurship special interest group.
This year’s discussion, which will take place on the evening of 16 February at Robinson College, will address the most significant issues currently facing entrepreneurs and establish whether these issues can be dealt with directly by the business community or need support from the government.
Key issues such as sources of funding, delivering effective infrastructure for business, attracting and retaining talented people, managing the marketing plan and succeeding in a global market are some of the areas which may be covered, but the hot topics of the debate will be driven by what’s on the minds of the region’s leading business leaders.
The views from the debate will be communicated to the government via Cambridge’s MP, Julian Huppert.
Ernst & Young’s senior partner in Cambridge, said, “Following on from the successful cross party debate in April 2010, where each of the four political parties set out what they would do for entrepreneurs in the Cambridge area if elected, the entrepreneurship special interest group will become an annual event for the region’s business community.
“We hope it will provide a regular platform for entrepreneurs to voice the challenges they are facing, and this is important because for the UK and region’s economy to be successful entrepreneurs must be successful.”
