The Cambridge Global Employer Services (GES) team of business advisory firm Deloitte has launched a unique Employment Taxes training school to provide organisations with an interactive training and learning forum for their employees.
Deloitte launches employment tax school
The GES team will be running a year-long programme of training and knowledge building designed to help in-house accounting, payroll and HR teams get to grips with all of the main areas of Employment tax.
The brainchild of the firm’s GES tax team, the training school will cover twelve topical areas, devised to develop staff members in the most common and practical areas of employment taxes. Some of the areas covered include:
- Business related expenses;
- Salary Sacrifice;
- Equity Incentive arrangements;
- Annual employment tax returns;
- Termination payments; and
- Employment status
James Hemphill, a senior manager and team leader of the Cambridge Employment tax team, said the 12-month programme was a response to client requests for structured training for their staff.
He said: “With the ever changing landscape of employment tax placing increasing statutory compliance obligations on all types of business, the feedback from our clients was that their training needs are often not fully met. In response to this demand we have designed a bespoke employment tax training school for our clients, based on the training we provide for our own staff, and we hope it will help add value to our traditional tax advisory service.”
Deloitte’s GES tax team in Cambridge has tripled in the last few months following direct investment in the East Anglian region. The team employs eight people and is now the largest GES practice in East Anglia.
