Organisations looking for space to stage outdoor events in Cambridge have been offered a solution - free of charge.
The great outdoors - for free
Turnstone Estates, the company which built the new Cambridge Leisure development on the City's former cattle market site, has come up with the idea.
The piazza in the centre of the development will be freely available to those wishing to use the area for organised events and activities.
Turnstone says: 'The development opened in May and is made up of a nine-screen cinema, 30 lane bowling alley, a state of the art fitness centre, a 120 room Travelodge hotel and various restarants including Pizza Hut, Bella Italia and Frankie & Benny's.
The Junction nightclub and Cambridge Drama Centre, recently opened, are on the same site.
Chris Goldsmith, Managing Director of Turnstone, says: 'The piazza was designed for activity and so we wish to do everything possible to make the space as vibrant as we can. To this end, companies and organisations wishing to use the space will be able to do so completely free.'
Kevin McCarthy, Cambridge Leisure Centre Manager, added: 'We hope to encourge more people to experience Cambridge Leisure'.
Anyone interested in using the piazza, which is 12,917 sq ft, should email Mr McCarthy at email@example.com or visit www.cambridgeleisure.com
Established in 1989, Turnstone is one of the most active and dynamic property companies in the south east of England.
