Cambridge Enterprise, the commercialisation office of the University of Cambridge, today announced the appointment of Dr Iain Thomas as the new Head of Life Sciences. Iain will head up a team of six people dedicated to the University's Life Science Departments and Addenbrooke's University Hospital. Iain succeeds Dr. Alastair Hick.

Over the past four years, Dr Alastair Hick has seen an increase in the number of invention disclosures in life sciences and more technologies being licensed to new and existing companies. Alastair is currently in the process of moving to Australia.
Cambridge Enterprise's Director Teri Willey said 'No doubt that Dr. Thomas will be an excellent leader and manager in this position and advance the efforts of Cambridge Enterprise based on the solid foundation Dr. Hick has established for us.'
