New appointment at Cambridge Enterprise Limited, University of Cambridge


Cambridge Enterprise Limited today announced the appointment of Dr Richard Jennings to the role of Director of Technology Transfer and Consultancy Services.

Cambridge Enterprise Limited (CE Ltd) is the knowledge transfer and technology commercialisation arm of the University of Cambridge. Since the formation of Cambridge Enterprise Limited in December 2006 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the University , Dr Jennings has been Head of Consultancy Services, a Director of CE Ltd, and also Director of its subsidiary company, Cambridge University Technical Services Limited (CUTS Ltd) which is responsible for the management of academic consultancy contracts.

Dr Jennings has played an important role in the development of technology transfer and consultancy within the University since joining the Wolfson Cambridge Industrial Unit as Assistant Director in Industrial Co-operation, responsible for biomedical projects in 1988. He was appointed Director in 1994, and also of Lynxvale Ltd, the forerunner of CE Ltd and CUTS Ltd.   When the Wolfson Unit became part of Research Services Division (RSD) in 2000, he was appointed Director of Research Policy and joined Cambridge Enterprise when it separated from RSD in 2005.

Dr Jennings has an extensive track record of setting up a wide range of University-industry collaborations and commercialising University-derived intellectual property though consultancy, licensing and spin-off companies. Dr Jennings is a Fellow of St Edmund’s College. Before joining the University, Dr Jennings was Head of Chemical Research at Napp Research Centre on the Cambridge Science Park
