Granta Park welcomes its first IT company

Softwerx Ltd, a leading provider of IT Services and Support, is to become the first IT Company to move to Granta Park.

The company has signed a five year lease on the 2954 sq ft unit on the second floor of the new Riverside development. Softwerx has 70 staff and is currently based in Sawston.

Granta Park was chosen because of its location and its appeal to prospective and existing Clients. Says Managing Director David Smart: “We wanted a fantastic place for our employees to work, thrive and develop and a location/office that would both delight and impress prospective and existing Clients. Nothing else that we looked at in the direct area really came close.”
Softwerx is also keen to take advantage of being the science park’s first IT Company. “As an established IT Company in the Cambridge area it made good sense for us to be on a science park. We have ambitious plans for growth and in this respect Granta Park offers everything we need. In particular, we are very keen to meet and become part of the overall Park Community and - as the first IT Company  – make a positive impression on our new neighbours.”
Says Granta Park Marketing and Asset Manager Roz Bird: “Granta Park is already established as the home of some of the area’s leading bio science companies and we are delighted to be welcoming our first IT Company. This proves we have the facilities and the environment this type of Company requires, so we are sure others will follow.”
Adds David Smart: “The range of facilities on the Park are thought-through and comprehensive and the overall standard exceptional and in this respect - good value for money. From the first meeting we were very impressed with Granta Park’s management. It’s particularly comforting when making such a fundamental decision as an office relocation to know that there is a first-class team on-site who are going to look after your every need.”
The deal was handled by Jeffersons Commercial  and Cushman & Wakefield. Says Will Mooney of Jeffersons: “Riverside can really be said to have it all for smaller technology companies. It’s purpose built for them yet they have the advantages usually associated with larger companies such as a sports and social programme, cafe, restaurant, nursery, fitness suite, commuter bus and 24 hour security.”
