Dr Hagen said: “I’m delighted to be joining CUHP as its chief operating officer and research lead. Cambridge has an enviable pedigree in the field of scientific and medical discovery.

I am really looking forward to working with the CUHP Executive Director and the Trusts’ chief executives to bring together the best of all the organisations in the pursuit of better patient outcomes through innovation.”

Baroness Helene Hayman, Chair of CUHP said: “I am very pleased that Hans is taking up this key role on the CUHP board. Dr Hagen has an excellent track record in successfully promoting academic and medical science, driving forward funding for key global health challenges.

“With a respected academic and medical research background, he has proven worth in bringing together individuals and organisations to work effectively on a common goal. His skills in negotiation and managing resources will be extremely useful as CUHP moves forward into our next phase of development.

“I look forward to working with Hans, with our partners, to promote CUHP as a world-leading academic clinical partnership.”
