Two’s company…in the Sahara!

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is on the search for two more adventurous souls, to trek the Sahara desert, alongside eight others including its CEO, Dr Lynn Morgan.

The challenge which takes place between 17 and 23 March 2016 will see a close-knit team take on an adventure like no other, while raising £10,000 and making a real difference to those living with life-limiting illness.

In a bid to fill their allocated places and raise the maximum amount of funds, the Charity is offering to knock £100 off the fundraising target if one participant recruits another, or if two friends or colleagues sign up at the same time. Community & Challenges Fundraiser Kath Austin explains the trek’s appeal: This is a unique opportunity to experience the wonder of the Sahara first hand. You will be tackling 70km of rocky terrain and sand dunes with the help of experienced local Berber Guides.

"With caravans of camels carrying your tent, freshly prepared local cuisine and a sky of stars to sleep under, it will be an unforgettable experience. We’re thrilled that our CEO Dr Lynn Morgan is taking part and how wonderful that those accompanying her on this adventure, will have the added benefit of being able to talk first hand to someone who is so integral to the Hospice and its future.”

A deposit of £300 is required to secure a place, with a fundraising target of £1580, which drops to £1480 - for both parties - should a friend, relative or colleague also be recruited to take part. As is always the case when people commit to raising essential funds for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, your activities and efforts will be fully supported, with materials provided and guidance from the experienced fundraising team every step of the way. The deadline for signing up is the end of September.
